Worcester, MA—A large group of armed robbers struck the NYC-Boston Express today, fired at MDC personnel, assaulted passengers and looted them Worcester, leaving 21 people injured.

Around 15 armed robbers boarded the train outside of Worcester a few minutes after the train was brought to a stop more than 40 miles from it’s final destination. They proceeded to walk into AC and sleeper coaches of the train and started looting cash and valuables, including jewellery and comlinks, from the passengers, official sources said quoting the damages registered by six passengers.

As the armed MDC personnel resisted them, they opened fire critically wounding one of them. Passengers were assaulted by the robbers with butts of pistols and rifles when they refused to part with their belongings. While five passengers, including three women, suffered serious injuries, 15 others sustained minor injuries, sources said.

A team of doctors was called by the MDC to provide first-aid to the passengers and the train resumed the onward journey to Boston more than two hours behind schedule, they said.
