12 January 2074 – Geneva, Switzerland – Between the disasters – both natural and manmade – of the past two years, world food supplies are critically short,” Shannon O’Connell, director of the UN World Food Bank, warned earlier today. “We anticipate that 70% of the world population will be malnourished this year – and over half of those critically.” In an effort to prevent mass starvation, the Food Bank is calling for industrialized nations and the Corporate Court to take “immediate action that redirects world resources toward food production.” While the UN General Assembly proposes to take up the matter next month, the Corporate Court has not responded to the Food Bank’s calls.
