Later in the month, the team is contacted by Brother 9 with an offer to do a job. They meet at Kai Tak airport, and in the terminal there Brother 9 introduced them to Rizal Fei, the Shan Chu of the 10,000 Lions Triad. He tells them that they must track down and return a smuggler who recently skipped out on a job, losing his cargo in the process. They are given a packet that includes some photos, a home address, and a list of former associates.
The team decides to make contact with the smuggling community and, after some legwork, they manage to track him to a smuggler’s haven north of Hong Kong. Once there they begin questioning the locals, and just as it seems that their target may have slipped through their fingers, he’s thrown bodily into the establishment by several members of the Tolo Vory. After fighting off the Vory, the team returns their target to the 10,000 lions unharmed.
- What’s Really Going On: It seems that the Vory are trying to make inroads on the incoming smuggling routes, and their target was trying to play both sides. By defending the Smugglers Haven the team has made a few friends, by taking out the Vory’s muscle, they’ve made some enemies as well.
