Hong Kong:

Ben Huong – Squatter/Snitch – Connection Rating: 2
Ben is a homeless man who moves from place to place in Kowloon and Yaou Tsim Mong. His background is sketchy, but at one point he may have worked as a company mage. If you go to see him, make sure you bring some rice wine, or he won’t tell you anything.

Deshun Wang – Fixer/Fence – Connection Rating: 2
Wang’s Electronics shack is set up at the Kowloon night market more often than not. A former Decker (pre-crash), Wang is usually up to date on matrix tech and programs.

Feng Tien – Knight Errant Detective – Connection Rating: 1
Feng spent years as a beat cop in Neo-Tokyo before coming to Hong Kong about 8 years ago. He is a detective for KE Central’s homicide division. Feng is in his 30’s, single, and likes to drink and gamble in his time off.

Gong Hao – Triad Soldier, 10K Lions – Connection Rating: 2
Gong Hao, formerly a hang member in metropolitan New York, is a soldier and courier for the Ten Thousand Lions. A young soldier, he joined the organization shortly after Rizal Fei raised the syndicate up from the ashes of the Yellow Lotus Triad. He often works jobs in and around the Kai Tak airport.

Jin ‘Jinny’ Mckee – Smuggler – Connection Rating: 2
Jinny is a half-Chinese/half-Souix army brat that settled into the smuggling scene in and out of Hong Kong. She specialized in ground transfers over land, the rougher the better. She usually has her ear to the ground about the ins and outs of the border region as well.

Jun Han – Triad Soldier, 10L Lions – Connection Rating: 2
Jun Han is a former gang member made good… at least in Hong Kong standards. His gang was absorbed a few years ago by the emerging 10,000 Lions Triad. Jun is young (22) and has lived on the streets most of his life.

Jiro Keiji- Fixer/Mr. Johnson – Connection Rating: 2
Jiro is a new addition to the Hong Kong shadows who moved in to fill the power vacuum left as the Triad Wars began several months ago. He seems to have picked up where several other Japanese fixers in the area left off, dealing mostly in hardware and personnel. He brokers deals for several ‘street’ level clients, including the triads.

Maria Yi – Bartender – Connection Rating: 2
25 year old Maria has bartended at 348 Disco for a few years, and keeps her ear to the ground. She’s a bit of a snitch, and there’s no telling if what you ask about might be blabbed to someone else later.

Mikael Petrov – Mafia Boss, Vory V Zakone – Connection Rating: 4
Petrov is a Vory lieutenant in charge of expanding the Vory’s limited presence in Hong Kong. Fresh from St. Petersburg, the Russian disapproves of violence for its own sake and prefers to use the exact amount of force necessary.

Rizal Fei – Triad Boss,10K Lions – Connection Rating: 4
Rizal Fei, a half-Filipino, is canny survivalist. Rizal pieced together the patchwork survivors among the former Yellow Lotus gangs and built up the Ten Thousand Lions. Because of the unconventional nature of Rizal’s rise to power, he is an exception among Triad leaders, often seen interacting with the street level toughs. Instead, Rizal is a hands-on leader, personally holding together the Ten Thousand Lions’ operations.

Vincent Fache – Fixer – Connection Rating: 4
Vincent is a French expatriate who has become somewhat of a fixture in Hong Kong. Fache sees his job as a facilitator for out of town talent and tries to help guide them through the twisted paths of the HK social setting. Sometimes this will just be about which noodle house makes the best udon, or it could be to recommend a safehouse to hide out in. Both are equally important to Fache and he doesn’t let Eastern notions of position and face impact his dealings with Westerners.

New York:

Mara Blaine- Former Company Man/Security Consultant – Connection Rating: 2
Mara knows who is shooting whom and why throughout most of New York City. Don’t ask her to sell you information about a system she consulted on, but anyone else’s systems are fair game. Deep bonds of trust and faith take a long time to build with her.

Orlando “Spike” Carvello – Bodyguard – Connection Rating: 2
“Spike” Carvello is a former Knight-Errant officer out of Boston, UCAS. When he was injured in the line of duty, he chose to take his pension (which basically bought out the lean on his cyberwear) and go into business for himself as a bodyguard. He works regularly guarding the upper-crust of the entertainment scene.

Dae – Exotic Dancer – Connection Rating: 2
She’s a top seller at Tickler’s, a favorite strip joint of the handful of mob capi that frequent the joint. She is definitely not connected to any of the major syndicates or gangs. Dae has a large corp clientele and even did a stint with Renraku as a “bonded entertainer” a few years back—but she isn’t currently linked to any corporation.

Robert Hinman – NYPD Inc. Detective – Connection Rating: 2
Robert Hinman is a lifetime resident of NYC, and has been working as a policeman in Manhattan for the past 15 years.

Ieto Hong – Mr. Johnson – Connection Rating: 4
Ieto Hong is reserved in speech, keeping an almost scary calm. He upholds the tradition of Kao, the concept of saving face and keeping respectability in public. He is succinct in talking and, even in the shadows, shows respect for those who understand Kao. He keeps his temper in check, separating the business side from the personal side, another corporate concept in his mannerisms.

Larvel ‘Irie’ Jones – Smuggler- Connection Rating: 2
Irie Jones is a small time smuggler who runs his boats up and down the Hudson River. He’s best known for the small gas station, bar, and smuggler haven that he runs out of Newburgh, NY.

Julius ‘Jules’ Carver – Fixer – Connection Rating: 3
Jules Carver is a long time fixer in the NYC area, specializing in weaponry, body armor, and other ‘hard to gets’ in Manhattan. He runs his shop out of a pair of suitcases, so you need to know what you want well in advance of a meet. If it won’t fit in his rollcase, he probably won’t sell it to you.

Peace – Fixer – Connection Rating: 3
Normally relaxed and easygoing, the orc called Peace fits the ‘potsmoking 60’s hippy” stereotype to a “T”. He watched as the government and the corps stood by as the UCAS imploded. He has participated in every manner of peaceful protest, but soon grew weary of not getting results. He hates the government and the corps in equal measure and is willing to let the ends justify the means, if the powers that be will start listening.

Soon Shan – Shiawase/Large Circle League Triad – Connection Rating 2
The by-product of a long-term work arrangement between Shiawase and the Large Circle League Triad, Soon Shan is loyal to both groups. With an analytical mind and manipulative personality, he has learned that subtle use of magic can be more effective than large flashy spells. A “Prince in Training,” Soon reads an equal measure of Machiavelli and Sun Tsu.

Eddie Stephens- Hacker/ID Specialist – Connection Rating: 3
An identity specialist, Eddie provides fake SINs and passes to anyone with enough money. The only guarantee he makes is that it will last through the first transaction. Whatever happens after that, is on you. Eddie is a regular party-goer with paranoid tendencies. He regularly looks over his shoulder in public places and never answers his link unless he recognizes the Access ID.

Seattle Contacts:

Alexander – Fixer/Fence – Connection Rating: 4
Alexander is a tech gear fixer and fence that works the metro Seattle area. Through (what must be some pretty impressive) means, Alex is able to get his hands on quite a bit of near-mil-spec hardware… usually security devices and vehicle parts… and always in an impressive amount of time. The price, however, is rarely negotiable. Alexander also works on a strict schedule, maintained by his personal assistant Persephone.

Agular – Personnel Fixer, Mr. Johnson – Connection Rating: 3
Aggie Smith has been around the block when it comes to Shadowruns… from both sides of the bargaining table. Rumor has it that he had a fairly successful career as a Face that allowed him to get out of the biz early. Since then, he’s been arranging runs for anyone that can afford him.

Will “Tusker” Anderson – Fence – Connection Rating: 2
Tusker is a gear and hardware fixer and fence headquartered in “The Mall” – the central ‘hub’ of the orc underground. He inherited his business from his father, Two Tusk a few years back. He deals almost exclusively in last years hot gear, the newest weapons to hit the streets, and the latest in corporate ‘cast-offs’.

“Bash” – Bodyguard – Connection Rating: 2
Bash is a bodyguard working the mid to high grossing sim-circuit. He’s guarded everyone from low-budget skin flick stars, to Maria Mercurial herself. If anyone has the dirt on what’s going on in the sim industry, it’s Bash.

A human bouncer who works a few clubs downtown on a rotating schedule. Works some nights at Matchsticks, the Rubber Suit, and Dante’s Inferno. Rumor has it that at one time he was an alternate for the Seattle Screamers.

Illeanna “Foxy” Fox – Fixer – Connection Rating: 4
Foxy is a high-tech electronics fixer based in Seattle, who specializes in top-of-the-line, high tech merchandise. She deals with clients in a far more personal way than most fixers prefer to. Bottom line is that if you treat her right, she’ll give you access to the wiz toys most people can only dream about… for a price.

Brian Grant is an officer with Lone Star… Specifically he runs their equipment ‘cage’. He manages all incoming and outgoing equipment purchases, requisitions, and evidence.

Doctor Henry Pym – Street Doc – Connection Rating: 2

Jose had a moderately successful career as a small time decker, and ‘big time’ club manager until his father’s untimely death in the fall of 2061. Now, he still keeps tabs on the goings-on in the shadow community, and occasionally sells that information. Jose’s houseboat can usually be found docked at one of many private facilities downtown.

Jim “Rat” Vanion – Fixer – Connection Rating: 3
Jim Vanion is a former Ravager gang member. He is a heavyset human male, of somewhere between 28-35 in age. He runs ‘Vanion’s Pawn’, in Columbia (a district of Downtown Seattle). “Rat” is known to keep tabs on the shadow community, and occasionally deal with both the O’Malley family, and the Yellow-Lotus Triad. Jim is a good source of rumors in the shadows, some organized crime info, small arms, and a place to fence non-sensitive material.

Johnny Wang – Fixer – Connection Rating: 3
Johnny Wang is an oleaginous, untrustworthy weasel. On the up side, he makes no bones about this fact, and doesn’t pretend to be something that he’s not. He operates out of a heavily-armored and incredibly well-stocked basement vault beneath a Chineese takeout in downtown Seattle. If you want to buy something, Johnny’s the man to see (as long as you don’t have any moral bones about dealing with a Triad man). Somehow, Johnny can get nearly anything – if it’s fallen off of a truck somewhere, or somewhen, Johnny can get it for you (he’s never been able to explain how a citymaster can fall off the back of a truck, however).

Bruce Wells – Rigger/Driver– Connection Rating: 3
Runner Based out of Seattle
Bruce Wells (formerly known as “Wheelman Wells”) is still alive and well in Redmond. He has a ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy about his former occupation as a small time thief. Bruce runs ‘Wells’ Garage’ in Redmond. Bruce is quite famous in rigger and go-gang circles.

Louis Verrcetti – Mafia Soldier – Connection Rating: 3

Darren Wilcox – Corporate Wage Mage – Connection Rating: 2
Darren Wilcox is a former Street Shaman done good, at least in his eyes. After a year or two running with the Greenlights (a small downtown Wiz-Kid gang), he was recruited into Universal Omitech (a AA rank corp, specializing in Biotech and Gene research). He’s spent the last year ‘living the high life’ as a member of their corporate security division.

Elise Speak with Winds – Talismonger – Connection Rating: 1
Speak With Winds is a rare sight, a tribal born Hermetic Mage who’s embraced technology. She runs “Chronos”, a hermetic lore shop located not too far from the Aztech Pyramid in downtown Seattle.

Mike Z. – Bartender (Matchsticks) – Connection Rating: 2
Mike Z. bartends Matchsticks Jazz club most weekends. He’s been there for years, knows all of the regulars, and has a good idea of what goes on in the shadowy corners. Not too close of a friend, but he’ll always drop some hints when he’s got something good to tell. Just make sure that the tip is in the triple digits. A good source of information for Shadow Community information.

Tokyo Contacts:

Benny Watanabe – Yakuza Sub-Boss – Connection Rating: 5
Benny is the local representative for the Wanabuchi-Rengo Yakuza in Hong Kong. While the Yaks don’t have much of an operation in the area they do tend to keep tabs on what’s going on there.

Brother 9 – Fixer/Mr. Johnson – Connection Rating: 4
Brother 9 is an independent fixer who brokers deals for several ‘street’ level clients, including the triads. During a meet he’s all business, and afterward all smiles.

International Contacts:

Baby Face Joe- Hacker – Connection Rating: 3
Based out of Hollywood
Baby Face is a long time hacker who works remote jobs up and down the West Coast. Joe had a long history in the simsense industry as a post-production assistant, but in the lat 60’s he decided that his talents were best used in the shadows.

Tiger Bright – Hacker – Connection Rating: 4
Based out of Hong Kong
Tiger is a Hong Kong based decker from way back. He fled town for a few years immediately after the crash, but returned in 2070 and re-established himself as a bleeding edge hacker, capable of defeating some of the most advanced security.

Thomas Chin – Former Company Man – Connection Rating: 2
Based out of NYC
Thomas Chin was once employed as an information retrieval specialist for Seattle’s branch of Yamatetsu, but was embarrassed in a big by a group of runners in the line of duty. He was to be reassigned, but chose to flee into the shadows instead. He still has inside information into Yamatetsu (now Evo) businesses, and keeps a close relationship with Ares NYC.

Two-Six-Oh-Oh – Hacker – Connection Rating: 3
Based out of Seattle
2600 (pronounced “Two Six Oh Oh”, or “Two-Six”) is a hacker / programmer out of the University district. That’s right, he’s a matrix science instructor at Seattle Tech. Two-Six’s skills are up to snuff, and he could probably make a decent living as a Corporate Decker, or even a Shadowrunner, but he prefers to stick to what he’s good at – ferreting out information and passing on his skills to the next generation. He’s one of the best hackers in the region when it comes to illicit data searches.
