T-354 – ‘Dark Fantasy Earth’
The group wakes late in the morning, and decide to seek out the ‘healer woman’ that the gate guard spoke of with Barry. They wander town for a while and find most of the residents of the town uncommunicative, at best, and downright rude and hostile in many cases. Eventually, through the use of threats, they find directions to the shrine that summons her and instructions that they are to bring an offering of meat, salt, water, and smoke.
The group finds the alter a few miles out of town, near a crossroads. Barry makes an offering (though, not a particularly accurate one) and summons the healer woman with his magic. The woman that approaches is not at all what they expected. Instead of an old crone, a young, vibrant redhead answers the call. Barry explains that he wants to know more about his magic, and the woman tells him that she’ll need more specific information in order to make a bargain. He asks to be able to imbue his magic into items and to be ‘the most successful performer of illusions in the world’. The woman agrees to the first request for ‘the standard price’. Barry offers the knowledge of the planar portals as price for the second request. With a smile, she informs him that her master’s representatives will meet him at the portal in 30 days to receive the information.
The team heads back to town, and buys provisions for the long walk to Stonehenge. Barry strikes a deal with the innkeeper to perform that evening. His performance exceeds even his expectations, and whips the crowd into a frenzy of drinking, debauchery, and eventually violence. The group is stunned that the crowd could turn so quickly, and decide to leave at first light.
They get on the road early, and travel North.
