Overview: The team is hired to sneak into Denver and rescue a political prisoner.

Met Cat O’ Nine Tails — as our Johnson — along with Blitz and Krieg as part of a run. If I never needed a sign that the club scene and the shadowrunner world was already an intersecting audience, this was it.
Cat O’ Nine Tails hired me and three others to get smuggled into Denver and pull Perianwyr out of a “prison” where Ghostwalker was holding him.
As we rode a VTOL into Chicago, we got hit by an unnatural snowstorm (apparently some spirits) and some drones. Caine put us on defense detail and I had to man a mounted light machine gun. Except I couldn’t see anything through the blizzard. With some effort and a lot of bullets, I managed to nail a drone though I did catch a few rounds in the process. [Jesse] seemed to know how to handle a LMG, so he quickly felled another. [Jim] was able to affect at least one of the spirits, though he seemed to hurt himself in the process. [Vinny] seemed a bit out of his element. He managed to put an arrow into one of the engines, which nearly made us fall out of the sky.
On landing we met up with Blitz and Krieg and they told us Perianwyr was being held in the basement of a military reserve center. We made some guesses about the layout, set up Blitz and Krieg to fake an attack at the front (hopefully) to draw guards, and timed it to match up with Ghostwalker’s speech to Denver.
What I didn’t know is that while we were hitting the prison, some elf guy in chainmail challenged and beat up Ghostwalker. How important our role was in the overall thing I’ll never know. I wonder if there were other operations with other runners going on at the same time.
The four of us broke into the building, snuck down to the basement, and moved in on the four guards where Perianwyr was held. The Orc and I chopped two up pretty quickly, while [Jim] helped with a lightning attack and [Jesse] finished up the last with some heavy fire. [Jim] was able to defeat a ward around Perianwyr and we pulled him out. Since it was a converted storage room, I also requisitioned a mint-in-box Ares Alpha along with one I liberated from the guard. We also pulled an elven lady and an orc in a suit (who tried to tell us how important he was).
As we hightailed it out in the truck, the orc prisoner started to look like he was about to pop, but before I could kick him out the back of the truck, a fire spirit burst out of him. I empty a clip into him, but was suddenly stricken yellow and just took off on foot. I heard some explosions and shouting and when I finally regained my senses I came back to find that the spirit had fled.
When we got back with Perianwyr we got a job offer immediately. I’m hoping this one has some more rockers or other big names. At some point I may be able to go back to them and shop some songs to them.
