Addonis, The

Notes: The Addonis is a long time smuggler running between the PCC, Cal Free, and the Tir. Part of his sucess is that he runs everything by ground using heavily modified cargo vehicles that have more in common with Rally cars than true street trucks. His routes are a closeley guarded secret between him and his crew, and his ‘Bombers’ (as he calls the cars in his motorpool) are mechanical marvels.

Alo

Notes: Alo is a transplant to the LA Sprawl, previously hailing from Detroit and Seattle. Two thing are obivous when you walk into her shop: She’s a pack-rat, and she’s an environmental nut. In fact, Alo is a follower of the Rat totem, and she was (at one point) an active member of the ‘Nova Gaia’ militant environmentalist group. She’s particularly good at acquiring hard to find reagents.

Mr. ‘August’

Notes:  ‘August’ is human, and extremely non-threatening. His facial expression seems fixed in a state of apathy… barely interested in the task at hand, but extremely aware of his surroundings. Whether this is your typical SoCal ‘laid back’ attitude, or an emotional detatchment due to extreme cyberware you’re not sure. The team has found out, after the Johnson sold them out, that he works for Horizon.

Axehandle

Notes: Axehandle is a 28 year old former street racer turned car thief and sometime getaway driver. After spending some time doing ‘indentured servitude’ to Ares, he decided to leave the east coast for greener pastures. He’s been working in Los Angeles as a cab driver and lives north of Hollywood. His street name was give to him because he’s ‘as blunt as an axehandle’… he doesn’t beat around the bush. He keeps his cab immaculate.

Baby Face Joe

Notes: Baby Face is a long time decker who works remote jobs up and down the North American West Coast. Joe had a long history in the simsense industry as a post-production assistant, but in the mid 60’s he decided that his talents were best used in the shadows. He was out of town when ‘the Twins’ hit in ’60, but made it back to the area once he deemed it ‘safe’. Baby Face has a P2.0 feed that is very popular among up and coming hackers. Joe’s getting up there in age, but regular body work’s kept him in his prime.

Brother 9

Notes: Brother 9 is an ‘independent’ who brokers deals for several ‘street’ level clients. During a meet he’s all business, and afterwards all smiles. He’s a tall chinese man in his later 30s/early 40s. Brother 9 has several tattoos plainly visible, but no obvious cyberware. Dresses in the latest in fasions, and is usually accompanied by one or two bodyguards. He chainsmokes during meets, and tosses back liquor with abandon. He speaks perfect English,  with a Non-regional American accent.

Bulldog

Notes: Bulldog is the archtypical picture of a street samurai, if you add about 10 to 15 years worth of wear and tear. Word on the street is that he’s a former law officer of some sort, but he made his name running the streets of Seattle for almost 10 years. After a big score he retired to the LA Sprawl. Bulldog may not run the shadows anymore, but he is a virtual encyclopedia of firearms and firearm design. He runs a small, private shooting range Downtown that caters to serurity officiers and runners alike. It’s known as neutral territory, and Bulldog’s clients pay for privacy.

Caesar Ciarniello

Notes: Caesar is a high-level boss in the Milano family, one of the two ranking mafia syndicates in Los Angeles. While it’s an ‘open secret’ that he’s mafioso, he’s mostly known as a local businessman, owning several bars, clubs, and restaurants. The runners have only tertiarily met Caesar, as they acted as Dae’s bodyguards on one of her ‘dates’ with him.

Carson ‘Wolverine’ Doyle

Notes: Carson Doyle is a semi-retired Shadowrunner and former company man working out of Las Vegas, PCC. His half-legitimate company ‘Wolverine Security’ provides bodyguards for locals and out of towners, but he also runs a crew of runners on the side. Carson is no-nonsense, rash in his decision making, and very matter of fact in his speech. He and his team are known for their ‘loud’ approach, and their willingness to do wet-work. Stealth, obviously, is not their strong point.

Cathy ‘Crybaby’ Monroe

Notes: Crybaby is a car/truck and heavy machinery mechanic operating out of Pasadena, close to the waterfront. She has a small private garage and scrap yard that she works out of (Monroe Motors), but has a warehouse nearby where she fixes up all sorts of custom jobs. She’s a survivor of ‘The Twins’, and her cyberarm isn’t her only scar. She’s always wearing a pair of coveralls with the arms torn off and the pockets stuffed with gear, plus a bulging tool belt with anything she might need to do a spur of the moment repair.

Chulsoon Gray-Wolf

Notes: The leader of the Komun’go Seoulpa Ring, Gray-Wolf has learned the hard way to think strategically and act with caution. D’Scialpi

Notes: A middle-aged ork, his dark hair is slicked back. There’s a mole on his cheek, and his small lower tusks purse his lips into a suspicious, wary frown. D’Scialpi is the leader of a professional criminal crew. They are consummate pros. Although they don’t use violence unnecessarily, they do not hesitate to do what is necessary. They are paranoid about getting caught and aren’t afraid to walk off  a job.  His name is pronounced Dee SHEE ALL pee. Push the sounds together quickly rather drawing them out or separating them.

Dr Orpheus

Notes: Dr. Orpheus is a street shaman, healer, wize man and self proclamed oracle who runs a small business in Pomona (called ‘The Orphic Hymn’) telling fortunes, reading palms and ‘consulting the spirits’ for paying customers. The good doctor also provides magical healing for those in need, for a price.

Ganef

Notes: Ganef has used his charisma and social talents to cultivate many friendships and contacts and has established his rep as a reliable fixer and information trader.  He has an easy smile, a sharp wit and is a good conversationalist.  Ganef started his carreer as a two bit hustler, and is not up in the lofty heights of the area’s top fixers, but he’s good at what he does.

Hanzo Shotu

Notes: Hanzo Shotu is a real estate investor from Malibu. His firm owns the controlling interest in several warehouse conglomerates, shipping firms, and import/export companies. Hanzo hails from Hong Kong, but has spent the last 12 years expanding his business empire in Los Angeles. Word on the street is that he is Shan Chu of the Red Dragon triad in Los Angeles.

Jack Bradley

Notes:  Jack Bradley is a producer of knockoff sims and B-rank films. He’s a bit of a sleeze. He’s gone through several mistresses and every time he has financial troubles, he files for bankruptcy and then creates a brand new company without the baggage of the old business. No one has ever accused him of anything illegal, though. Bradley wears clean, mass-produced business suits and has his hair slicked back with enough gel to glue a fifty-story building together. He has a nervous habit of flicking his fingers to emphasize the wrong words in his sentences. Bradley is the perfect image of a snake-oil salesman who forgot to actually fill his bottles with the snake oil.

James Runs-With-Hunted

Notes: James is a full blooded Pueblo, former blackjack dealer turned fence who relocated to LA from Vegas shortly after the PCC moved in. He has a lot of connections, but doesn’t trust easily. James is soft spoken, exceedingly polite, and does not take kindly to disrespect. Most of his business is done from his storefront in the Carousel Mall–a converted bank branch, complete with a secure vault for his ‘toys’.

Johnny Everything

Notes: Johnny ‘Everything’ Eversoll is a small time fixer and information broker who specializes in the social scene of the LA Sprawl. Johnny keeps tabs on all of those who want to see and be seen, and usually his rumors and speculation is spot on. His P2.0 feed is popular enough that he doesn’t have to pay for it. He has a taste for the finer things in life, but his one weakness is a good cheeseburger.

Notes: Mr. Johnson is a troll, most likely of islander decent… either samoan or hawaiian. He’s always well dressed in the latest ‘corp’ chic, keeps his twin horns polished and sharpened, and wears his long hair tied back at the nape of his neck. This Johnson has a deep voice, and speaks very distinctly, non-accented English.

Notes: Mr. Johnson is a dwarf, well dressed and with a thick New York accent. Johnson (“Or Johnny, or what ever”) is well dressed, and carries himself with confidence. He’s gregarious, and treats the runners well, with a casual familiarity.

Jorge Rhys – Presumed Dead

Notes: Rhys is a well-tanned dwarf in his early-thirties with a general lack of social graces except for professional etiquette with other scientists. His bedside manner when “playing doctor” (examining an addict or the eff ects of a particular drug combination/dosage on a subject) is focused and completely unemotional. He obeys Uribe and Sacristán and never questions his role—designing drugs for the masses is just business and keeps him well within his comfort zone.

June Williams ‘She Who Stays at Home’

Notes: June Williams is a ‘socialized’ Pueblo tribeswoman who knows the ins and outs of city life. June knows who is shooting whom and why throughout most of LA. Deep bonds of trust and faith take a long time to build with her.

Kaz Yakamura

Notes: Kaz is a boss in the Kumun’go Seolpa ring. Yellow-skinned with a curved horn jutting from the one side of his forehead, a broken one from the other, and a boxer’s nose, Kaz Yakamura is less than pretty. What he lacks in looks he more than makes up in intelligence, cunning, and sheer drive to succeed. He may not be as menacing as some trolls, but something about Kaz Yakamura inspires respect.

Mister Mojo Rising

Notes: Woodstock’s mentor spirit, Mister Mojo Rising, is a wize man of the desert. He speaks crypticallty, and in riddles, and encourages Woodstock to expand his mind, shed his skin, and ’embrace the fear’. After Woodstock has spent time acting particularly in accordance with his mentor spirit’s archtype, or performed some task that is especially ‘lizard-like’, the  Mr. Mojo Rising may place the shamanic mask of the ‘Lizard King’ upon him, granting him a powerful aura in the astral, and possible additional special abilities.

Nick Ryder

Notes: Nick is a washed up Lone Star Detective who took to the bottle when the flood waters first hit and there wasn’t a damn thing he could do about it. He stayed there for nearly two decades. Those who know him on the streets say he’s trustworthy, but his bosses can’t stand him and the press is in their pocket. He always tries to do what he feels is right, and it usually lands him in hot water with someone.

Pedro Ximénez

Notes: Piper is a slender fellow and an Elf Poser, meaning he pretends to be an elf, but is completely human. While he used to be a a bit of a magpie… easily distracted by shiny objects… he’s become much more somber since his friends were killed by the runners. He’s gotten several augmentations recently, includind dual cyberarms, and has risen in the ranks of the ShitKickers, a street gang on Palos Verdes Island. He has a strong hatred of the team.

Quilland

Notes: The elf hacker known as ‘Quilland’ is somewhat of a mystery. He/she’s well known on Jackpoint, Shadowland, NooseNET, and other ‘shadow’ community sites, but little is know about him/her other than a screen name. It’s assumed that he/she operates from somewhere within the UCAS, but most sources aren’t sure. The one thing people are sure of is that if there’s information to be had, Quilland can usually find it, or hook you up with someone else who can for a price.

Reno Pyatt

Notes:  Rerun is a dwarf born and raised New Orleans. She has been a successful LA fixer for a few years now. Rerun has an extensive trid and simsense collection and is a voracious collector of old flat, 3d and simsense vids. She has many contacts amongst smugglers and within local nautical and salvage circles. She knows many fences, and many suppliers of serious technical hardware.

‘Rolando’ – Raymond Martínez

Notes:  Rolando is a hermetic mage with a few visible implants. He appears to be of South American extraction, and acts like a poor trid stereotype. He has all of the accent, all of the clothes, gaudy jewelry (including a gold medallion on gold chain dangling about his neck), but none of the class. He is, however, very good at tracking down spells formulae and reagents and identifying unknown magical items.

Rook

Notes: Rook is an aggressive fixer working between Covina and Pomona, with obivous ties to the tech firms in San Bernardino. While he doesn’t specialize in any one field, he seems to be the type of person that ‘knows a guy, who knows a guy’. He excels at setting up clients with the right people, or finding a line on that one special piece of tech that just might come in handy.

Sacristán – Presumed Dead

Notes: María Fyolek García Sacristán—Henry Uribe’s right hand woman and the principal expediter—is a no-nonsense woman in her late twenties. While her features and skin color suggest a Latin American background, her eyes betray a hint of Asian ancestry. Though petite and attractive, Sacristán has made it this far in life through hard work, ruthlessness, and skill. Sacristán doesn’t like to waste time on pleasantries or small talk; her business is dates, times, and numbers, and she likes to get it done as quickly and safely as possible. 

Shigenobu Nagamori

Notes: Shigenobu Nagamori is the president and CEO or Eden Investements, a privately held middle market investment firm with interests throught Cal Free-State, and Los Angeles. He runs his business empire from his headquarters in Ventura, Cal-Free. Many suspect that Hanzo has ties to the Shotozumi-rengo in Cal-Free.

‘Smokin’ Joe Gershwitz

Notes: Smokin’ Joe  is a drug dealer, no two ways about it. He stays stricktly ‘organic’, however. He specializes in recriational compounds like Zen, Psyche  and Novacoke, but also can get access to combat drugs such as Kamikaze with a little notice. He typically can be found prowling the Black Markets at the Carousel Mall complex.

Takoda

Affiliation: Yakuza (Karatsa-gumi )

Notes: Takoda is an untrustworthy weasel. On the up side, he makes no bones about this fact, and doesn’t pretend to be something that he’s not. He operates out of a heavily-armored vault beneath a Mitzie’s Bar in Pomona. Tokoda prefers not to broker deals himself, but instead is very adepts at ‘knowing a guy’.

Tigger

Notes:  Once a shadowrunner himself, the dwarf Cat shaman called Tiger now seems little more than a homeless drunk living it rough in the Infierno. There is some truth that Tigger is a drunk, but he still functions quite well nonetheless. He lives on the streets by choice, because that is where he feels closest to Cat. That does not mean he lives rough, though. His spells and affinity with the local spirits allow him to live comfortably enough.

Wang Yeh

Notes: Wang Yeh a free spirit, and  the prirpietor of ‘Yau Ma Tei’ Herbalist shop in LA’s Chinatown district. He appears almost exclusively in the astral, rarely manifesting. His astral form is of a powerful man dressed in traditional Chinese robes, with a serpents tail instead of legs. Mr. Johnson primarily interacts with the physical world through ‘Po’, the fat, silent, middle-aged man who works and lives at the shop.

“Wheels”

Notes: Most shadowrunners dream of that one big score that sets them up for life. But only a select few are good (or lucky) enough to achieve it. Arthur “Wheels” Finkelstein was one of those lucky ones.  Wheels went into semi-retirement and signed on with Technicolor Wings where he takes the odd smuggling run to keep his skills sharp. In reality, it’s not enough, and Art is starting to feel like he’s losing his edge. Worse than that… he’s also extremely bored.

Xeno

Notes:  Xeno is a middle aged, former LAPD officer turned fence/pawn shop owner. When El Infierno closed down, Xeno was on the wrong side of the wall. ‘If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em’ became the rule of the day, and Xeno went into business for himself running protection, salvage, and acquiring/distributing gear among the huddled masses. By the time the flood waters came in, Xeno had made quite a name for himself as someone with deep pockets and a long list of connections and clients.

Deshun Wang

Notes:  Wang is a short, balding, middle-aged Korean man with 2 datajacks studding his left temple. He’s usually found wearing a faded Seattle Supersonics jersey and a matching baseball hat. Wang’s Electronics shack is set up at the Kowloon night market more often than not. A former Decker (pre-crash), Wang is usually up to date on matrix tech and programs..

Ricki Chan

Notes:  Ricki ‘Ricard’ Chan is a well connected chinese fixer out of Yau Tsim Mong who’s watched one to many Mafia sims. When doing business, he’s always accompanied by one or two razorgirl bodyguards.
